church was established here
at the lighthouse was that
this is a location where
there are a lot of tourists
who pass by and can be
converted. In fact, it was
the tourists who suggested
that we go ahead and build
a place of worship at this
location. It is one of the
biggest tourist attraction
on the north island.
-The cost of building
and maintaining this
church has been covered by
the interest on the mortgage
payable to the New Zealand
Financial Services
Authority. The church will
continue to pay off the
mortgage, and should it
eventually need to be sold,
the New Zealand
Financial Services
Authority will have
collateral.
-There is no doubt that
God is working through
our Pastor and his family.
They have been very
proactive in evangelism and
ministry in the community,
and are doing an excellent
job of training youth to
become part of the ministry.
-The church has made
many new friends. We
hope that some will
continue to worship
with us. We also hope
that people in Christchurch
and North Canterbury will
begin to minister to us.
We pray that people will
continue to pray for us.
-We were happy to hear
that we have been registered
as a Charitable
Organisation. This means
that we can receive
donations without having
to charge a tax, and are
recognised as a worthwhile
organisation in the country.
I think that the people of
this church will also be
pleased to know that we are
insured and registered.
